Turnstiles

Controlling access into any building where the area is unguarded can be difficult. Even with access control on a door it is possible for somebody to ‘Tailgate’ so undermining the security systems.

It is possible to impose greater securtiy and control by installing turnstile access control at the main entry points into a building. These can take the form of mid height, full height or even monitored versions for monitoring anti-pass-back routines.

Ansador prides itself in having installed many such systems in London and the home counties.

Controlling access into the main or rear entrance of a building is key to providing a secure environment. Choosing the correct and most appropriate turnstile can be difficult. Ansador will provide you with advice to ensure the correct choice of turnstile.

Integrated Design Limited

Ansador are proud to be able to offer turnstile products designed and manufactured by Integrated Design Limited (IDL) – A leading company in the devolpment of turnstiles.

About IDL – Integrated Design Limited (IDL) design and manufacture the world-leading Fastlane Turnstiles and Door Detective brands. Their products are known for their award winning innovation, aesthetically pleasing designs, quality and reliability. Operating since 1985, IDL supplies products around the globe.

Turnstiles

Here are a few questions and pointers to choosing the best and most effective type of turnstile.

  • How many people use the building? As a rough guide you can assume one lane will handle about 150 to 200 people assuming they are set up to be bi-directional.
  • You can choose from tripod style, drop arm type, swing gate, pass agate in both stainless steel, glass or even mid steel.
  • What sort of environment is It.? If it’s a construction site then we suggest the more functional trip type in a powdered coated finish.
  • Would you like the turnstiles to fail to an open position on a fire alarm activation?
  • How do you want the them to operate? Usually by card, or even finger print recognition.
  • Would you like to be alerted if somebody tries to tailgate through the turnstile? Some of the systems offer this feature and can provide an impulse to an local alarm, CCTV camera or pager perhaps.
  • Would you like reception to be able override the system with a remote push button?

Our technical surveyors will provide advice on the most appropriate type of model to choose from for your particular application. Call 0207 228 7777 for a site survey and no cost estimate.

Advanced Intelligence

At the heart of a Fastlane system is a multi infra- red beam matrix coupled with a custom designed microprocessor.

Speed Gates

  • Intelligent Security Gates
  • Fastest Throughput
  • Unsurpassed Accuracy
  • Safety, up to 8 safety beams
  • Disabled Access
  • More Secure

Speed Gates glass barriers with state of the art optical technology to provide a high throughput. The bi-directional glass barriers are designed to work in a normally closed mode and open after a valid card or visitor signal has been presented to allow the authorised user to pass. The glass barriers close quickly behind the authorised person to deter tailgaters. The glass barriers move away from the authorised person.

In the event of other authorised users trying to use the lane the barriers will stay open, even if they are walking in the opposite direction. The familiarity of the ‘door-like’ action of the barrier gives users confidence in operating the system ensuring quick user acceptance.

Tripod Turnstiles

  • The Fastlane tripod turnstiles are based on a smooth reliable mechanism
  • Motorised
  • Safe – In the event of power-fail the tripod turnstiles have a failsafe design so they turn freely for emergency egress
  • Customisable decorative tops
  • Compatible with all access control systems

The tripod turnstiles are straight forward and familiar to most users. The 3 arms can rotate in one or two directions, controlled by an access control system or push button at a reception desk.

The motor speeds up throughput whilst further facilitating the use of the tripod turnstile. After an authorising input from the access control system the arms inch forward to show the user that they have been authorised, then, after a small amount of pressure from the user the arms complete their cycle.

Single fixed Arm Turnstiles

  • More Secure
  • Fastest Throughput
  • Unsurpassed Accuracy
  • Most Aesthetic and Streamlined Design
  • Easiest Installation and Ongoing Maintenance
  • Safety -features multiple safety beams

Single fixed arm with a breakaway module. The unit operates 12 detection beams that include 4 safety beams, which are designed to stop the arms closing if they detect someone is in the way of them.

Fastlane plus also features a fire alarm input to retract and disable the barrier arms, thereby allowing free, unrestricted emergency egress and in power fail the system can be configured to fail safe. This is our latest model with an extra quiet barrier arm. As with all Fastlane plus units the narrow pedestal width, combined with the fact that the same slim pedestal is used for creating wheelchair width lanes, makes the product ideal for applications in reception areas and lift lobby entrances where there may be space constraints.
