Card access systems are simple and effective ways to control access in and around any building, generally being used for commercial buildings. A simple proximity or swipe card would be presented to a card reader located outside the door, when the card is read by the card reader the door will automatically unlock for a predetermined time. Some include single door systems which allow individual cards to be added and deleted individually.
The more complex card access systems enable individual cards to be controlled by time zones so that each card can have access at different times during the day. When the system is linked to a PC an audit trail will be formed to determine when the card was used and at which door.
