The reality on the ground

Financial services security carries unique constraints.

01

Operational resilience is a board issue

FCA SS1/21 and PRA PS21/3 require firms to evidence resilience of important business services. Physical security underpins that. Boards now expect operational resilience reporting that includes the physical layer.

02

Hub-and-spoke estates

Headquarters, regional offices, branches, back-office centres, data rooms. Each site has different protection requirements but the compliance evidence has to be unified at group level.

03

Trading floor discretion

Security work on trading floors and in dealing rooms cannot disrupt market operations. Most contractors do not understand market schedules, MiFID II constraints, or the discretion required.

04

Audit trail expectations

Internal audit, external audit, regulatory examination. Every physical access event, every system test, every incident response, the evidence must be tamper-evident, exportable, and ready to defend.

How we work in your sector

A delivery model built for live environments.

We don't shut down sites to do our job. Our entire delivery model is designed around uptime, evidence, and discretion in operational settings.

PHASE 01

Resilience-mapped audit

Our Maturity Assessment is calibrated against FCA / PRA operational resilience and DORA. You receive a gap analysis your second-line risk function can use directly.

PHASE 02

Estate-wide consolidation

Branch, HQ, back-office, data room, all under one contract, one dashboard. Phased migration over six to twelve months with zero unprotected windows.

PHASE 03

Audit-ready operations

Tamper-evident logs, automated evidence packs, SIEM integration. When the regulator asks, the answer is ready in real time.

Standards we work to

The standards UK financial services firms must meet, physically.

FCA SS1/21 / PS21/3
Operational resilience requirements for important business services. Physical security underpins ICT and facility resilience.
PRA SS1/21
Operational resilience for banks, building societies, insurers and PRA-designated firms. Quarterly board attestation.
DORA
Digital Operational Resilience Act. ICT-focused but with implications for physical-layer controls underpinning ICT services.
BS EN 50131
Intruder alarm grading. Cash-handling sites and regional hubs built to Grade 3 and Grade 4 standards.
Frequently Asked Questions

Compliance, architecture, and deployment.

How does Ansador support FCA and PRA operational resilience requirements?
Operational resilience under SS1/21 and the FCA's PS21/3 requires firms to identify important business services and set impact tolerances. Physical security infrastructure is foundational to that. We provide continuous evidence of system availability and incident response that maps directly to your resilience reporting framework.
Are you set up for DORA compliance?
The Digital Operational Resilience Act applies to UK firms operating in or with the EU. While DORA is primarily ICT-focused, physical security underpins the operational resilience of ICT systems. Our SIaaS contract evidences the physical-layer controls that support DORA Pillar 1 (ICT risk management) and Pillar 2 (incident management).
Can you handle branch and HQ together?
Yes. Most financial services clients operate a hub-and-spoke estate: one or two HQs, multiple branches, and increasingly distributed back-office sites. SIaaS is designed for this. One contract, one dashboard, every site visible.
Do you work in trading floor and dealing room environments?
Yes. Trading floors require security work to be done with extreme discretion, often outside market hours. Our delivery model is built around this, engineers are briefed on trading-day protocols, work windows are negotiated against market schedules, and we have experience working under MiFID II compliance constraints.
How do you handle physical access for sensitive areas like data rooms and trading desks?
Multi-factor physical access (card, PIN, biometric) integrated with HR systems for joiner-mover-leaver workflows. Audit logs are tamper-evident and exportable to your SIEM. Cleaner protocols, visitor escort, and tailgate detection are part of the standard scope.
What about cash-handling sites, branches and operations centres?
We work with NSI Gold ARC monitoring, BS EN 50131 graded intruder systems, time-locked safe protection, and cash-in-transit interfaces. Branch operations have their own security architecture and we deliver to it.
