The reality on the ground

Healthcare estates carry risks that other sectors don't.

01

Live environments, 24/7

Wards don't close for fire alarm upgrades. Theatres can't tolerate planned downtime. Every site visit has to work around clinical operations, and most contractors aren't built for that.

02

Compliance complexity

HTM 05, BS 9991:2024, BS 5839, the Building Safety Act, CQC requirements, fire risk assessment cadence. The compliance burden is heavier here than almost anywhere else.

03

Patient safety is non-negotiable

A fire alarm failure in a hospital is not a maintenance issue. It is a patient safety incident. Boards are accountable. Trusts cannot afford a vendor whose response time is 'next business day'.

04

Fragmented vendor stacks

A typical NHS trust has different contracts for fire, intruder, access control, CCTV, life safety. Each renewing on different cycles. Each producing its own evidence pack. Compliance teams spend more time chasing suppliers than improving the estate.

How we work in your sector

A delivery model built for live environments.

We don't shut down sites to do our job. Our entire delivery model is designed around uptime, evidence, and discretion in operational settings.

PHASE 01

Clinical-aware audit

Our Maturity Assessment is run by engineers with healthcare experience. We respect ward routines, infection control, and clinical priorities from the first visit.

PHASE 02

Phased migration

Legacy systems come into the SIaaS contract over six to twelve months. No site is ever unprotected during transition. Estates teams stay informed at every step.

PHASE 03

Continuous evidence

Compliance evidence is generated continuously and audit-ready. CQC inspections, fire authority visits, board reports, the evidence is always current.

Standards we work to

The standards healthcare estates must meet, in one contract.

HTM 05
Health Technical Memorandum on fire safety in healthcare premises. Mandatory for NHS estates.
BS 9991:2024
Updated fire safety design standard. Major implications for residential care, dementia units and mental health facilities.
BS 5839 Part 1
Fire detection and alarm systems for non-domestic premises. The core standard for hospital fire systems.
Building Safety Act 2022
Applies to higher-risk buildings including many healthcare estates. Continuous evidence required.
CQC Fundamental Standards
Including Regulation 12 (safe care and treatment) which directly engages fire and security systems.
BS EN 50131
Intruder alarm system standard. Critical for pharmaceutical and controlled-drug storage areas.

Working in a children's hospital is unforgiving. You only get this right by treating patient care as the absolute priority and engineering everything around it. That's the discipline we bring to every healthcare site we work on.

GOT QUESTIONS?

Healthcare, answered.

Do you have experience working in live healthcare environments?
Yes. Our flagship healthcare client is an NHS Foundation Trust children's hospital, where we deliver fire and security infrastructure across more than forty buildings without disruption to patient care. Every engineer on a healthcare site is briefed on infection control, dignity in clinical areas, and the operational rhythms of the wards they enter.
How does Ansador handle compliance evidence for CQC inspections and HTM 05?
Continuous evidence generation is built into the SIaaS contract. Every test, every check, every certificate is captured automatically and made available to the estates and compliance teams in real time. When CQC arrive, the evidence is ready, no last-minute scramble through filing cabinets.
Can you bring our existing fire and security systems under one contract?
Yes. We start with a Security Infrastructure Maturity Assessment that audits the existing estate. Most healthcare clients have legacy systems from multiple eras and vendors. We bring them under one contract over six to twelve months in a phased migration, so there is never a moment of unprotected estate.
How do you protect patient data and dignity?
Our engineers operate under NHS-aligned protocols: photography is prohibited in clinical areas without explicit estates clearance, all staff hold up-to-date DBS, and access to clinical systems is read-only and logged. Privacy and dignity are not optional in healthcare and our delivery model reflects that.
Do you work with both NHS trusts and private healthcare?
Yes. We work with NHS trusts, foundation trusts, mental health and community trusts, private hospitals, and care home groups. Each has different procurement routes (CCS frameworks, ProCure, direct commercial) and we are set up to deliver under all of them.
What happens if a fire or security system fails out of hours in a hospital?
Our SLA-backed response includes 24/7 monitoring with on-call engineering response. For critical life safety failures, response is under one hour anywhere in our coverage area. The contract specifies outcomes, uptime and response, not hours on site.
