Leading Private Hospital, Central London

From maintenance contract
to embedded technology partner.

When one of the UK's largest independent hospitals went to open tender,
the brief was a maintenance contract. Ansador displaced the incumbent,
won the work on technical merit, and over the years that followed reshaped how the estate's security, fire and clinical-supporting systems are designed, integrated, and operated. This is how a maintenance award became a
multi-million pound technology partnership.

The brief

An enterprise platform that had been deployed like a starter system.

A leading private hospital in central London, one of the UK's largest independent hospitals, operating as a registered charity across seven buildings in the Harley Street medical district. The estate spans listed Marylebone heritage, modern surgical and oncology wings, a dedicated Eye Centre, and consulting suites stretching across Devonshire Place and Harley Street. Inside those buildings is the kind of clinical environment where ICU teams, robotic theatre suites, ten operating theatres, and an international patient list are part of the daily rhythm. Where the standard expected of every system that supports the patients has to be exceptional, because the patients themselves expect nothing less.

When Ansador first engaged, the clinic had recently inherited a Software House C·CURE 9000 access control system from the previous integrator. C·CURE is a category-leading enterprise platform, used by some of the most demanding security estates in the world. It had not been treated that way. Configured at the surface, deployed at speed, walked away from. A platform of that calibre needs a partner who knows what it is capable of. The clinic did not have one.

Around the C·CURE estate sat the rest of a complex environment: Salto wireless locks, Aperio offline credentials, Traka key-management cabinets, an American Dynamics CCTV estate, a Honeywell Galaxy intruder system, and a fire estate stitched together over the years from Advanced MxPro, Gent by Honeywell, Kentec, and a closed-protocol Protec system. Each capable in isolation. None speaking to each other.

When the clinic went to open competitive tender, the headline brief was a maintenance contract. The real opportunity, once we sat down with the team, was something else entirely. A partner who could lead the estate forward, integrate technology properly with the clinic's IT environment, and engineer the whole estate around a clinical experience where security is felt by no one and trusted by everyone.

Ansador won the tender. What followed has been the deeper work.

What the clinic now operates

An integrated security, fire and operational platform across the estate.

The system the clinic runs today is not a collection of contracts. It is a connected platform that the security team, the estates team, and the IT team operate together. Each component does its job. Together, they give the clinic visibility, control, and evidence at a level the estate did not previously have access to.

Enterprise access control

Software House C·CURE 9000, properly configured and properly maintained, as the central access control platform across the estate. Multi-credential, multi-zone, audit-grade, integration-ready.

Unified video management

American Dynamics victor video management, natively unified with C·CURE 9000 through the same Tyco family of products. Hundreds of cameras across the estate, controlled and reviewed from a single interface.

Integrated intruder detection

Honeywell Galaxy intruder system, integrated with the access control and video estate. Events surfaced in one place. Response coordinated through one workflow.

Specialist sub-systems

Salto wireless, Aperio offline credentials, Traka key cabinets, all operated alongside the core platform without competing with it. Specialist where specialism is needed. Unified where unification matters.

Estate-wide fire infrastructure

A multi-vendor fire estate that has grown organically over decades, now consolidating under a single design framework. New panels, new graphics, single accountability.

Command-centre architecture

The destination architecture: a unified command centre that brings access, video, intruder, and fire onto a shared operational view. The estate managed as one connected operational picture, not eight disconnected systems.

The journey

From displacement of an incumbent to embedded technology partner.

The relationship has grown in clearly defined phases, each one earned by the work of the phase before. Each phase opened new scope. None of it was assumed.

01
Commission

Won on merit. Incumbent displaced.

The clinic ran an open competitive tender against a sitting incumbent. Ansador's bid was selected on technical depth, integration credibility, and the strength of our point of view about what the C·CURE platform was actually capable of. The headline award was maintenance. The real award was the clinic's confidence that we understood the estate better than the team that had installed it.

02
Day one operations

The platform reset. The estate stabilised.

The first work was housekeeping. Cardholder database hygiene. Reader configuration audit. Integration testing across Salto, Aperio, Traka and the wider sub-system estate. Performance and availability brought up to the standard the platform was designed for. The clinic's security and IT teams saw, often for the first time, what their estate was actually capable of when operated by people who knew the platform.

03
Year one optimisation

Integration as a discipline, not an afterthought.

With the foundation stable, the work shifted to integration. American Dynamics victor unified with C·CURE through the native Tyco integration, giving the operations team a single pane of glass for video and access. Honeywell Galaxy events surfaced into the same workflow. The disparate sub-systems began to behave as one connected estate. Throughout this phase, the work was undertaken side by side with the clinic's IT team. Every server migration, every integration point, every change-control gate signed off in the same way the trust would expect of any other supplier with hands on the IT environment. Because integrated security infrastructure does not sit alongside a hospital's IT environment. It sits inside it.

04
Year two and beyond

Strategic adviser, not service provider.

By this point the conversations had changed. We were no longer being asked to maintain. We were being asked to advise. Where to put cameras. Where not to. When a single fish-eye in the right position would do the job of five conventional cameras and respect the patient experience. How to lock the estate down properly without making it feel like Fort Knox. The clinic looks after a patient list that includes some of the most recognised names in international healthcare, and the brief has always been the same. Visible enough to protect. Quiet enough to disappear. The work increasingly reflected that judgement.

05
Ongoing partnership

Trust extended. Scope expanded.

Off the back of the work delivered to date, the clinic has now awarded Ansador the fire alarm package across the estate. The existing fire infrastructure spans Advanced MxPro, Gent, Kentec and Protec. The new design consolidates it under a single framework, with a unified graphics package designed to feed the destination command centre. Design is underway. The team is on site soon. The brief is the same as it has always been. Discretion. Continuity. Standards held without drama.

Data · Insight · Intelligence

The strategic value layer.

Private healthcare estates are operated against a different set of pressures than NHS estates. Patient confidentiality is absolute. Insurer scrutiny is sharper. The cost of a service disruption, a privacy incident, or a compliance gap is felt commercially and reputationally within hours. The intelligence layer the clinic now operates on is the response to all of that.

The platform is generating something the previous system could not. Information. Patterns. Flow. Anomalies. Audit trails. The data that lets the clinic answer the questions estates teams in private healthcare are now being asked routinely. By insurers. By regulators. By the executive team. By patients themselves.

Audit readiness
Compliance evidence current by default.
CQC, fire authority, Building Safety Regulator, insurer reviews, internal governance. Evidence is generated continuously across the estate, not assembled in the week before an inspection.
Operational visibility
One pane of glass across access, video, intruder.
Through the C·CURE and victor unification, the operations team monitors and responds to events across the estate from a single workflow. No system swapping. No reconciliation across separate logs.
Discretion engineering
Designed for clinical experience, not visible security.
Camera positioning, reader placement, sounder design, workflow choreography. Each decision balanced against the patient experience the clinic is built around. Visible enough to protect. Quiet enough to disappear.
Service delivery
Predictive maintenance reduces reactive call-outs.
Device health and behavioural anomalies surfaced before they become failures. Engineering effort shifts from reactive break-fix into scheduled, evidence-driven service. The estate stays current rather than ageing into a refresh cycle.
Data discretion
Information governance held to the standard the patients require.
Cyber Essentials. ISO-aligned working practices. Engineer access controlled. Footage, credential records, and logs held within the discipline that private healthcare environments expect of every supplier with hands on data.
Future readiness
Architected for the next decade, not just the next renewal.
Open architecture. Native unification across the platform. Integration-ready for new buildings, new credential standards, new compliance frameworks. The estate evolves without rip-and-replace.
"Ansador are not a contractor. They are the team we plan with. They understand our environment, the patients we look after, and the standard we hold ourselves to. They have grown the estate's technology with us, not for us, and the relationship has earned every piece of new scope they have been given."
Estates Leadership · Leading Private Hospital, Central London
Why it matters

For private estates where reputation, discretion and compliance now move together.

Private healthcare is not the only sector being asked to evidence its compliance posture continuously. Across financial services, legal, hospitality, professional services, government, and corporate estates more broadly, the executive teams running the buildings are being held to a higher standard than they were five years ago. The Building Safety Act. Martyn's Law. Evolving British Standards. Cyber Essentials. ISO 27001 alignment. Insurer scrutiny on every renewal cycle. Audit windows that no longer wait for the convenient moment.

The estates being asked to meet that bar already have the platforms. Most of them are running enterprise-grade access control. Most are running serious video infrastructure. The gap is rarely the technology. The gap is the partner who knows how to operate it.

This case study demonstrates four things. Procurement credibility: we won an open competitive tender against a sitting incumbent on technical merit. Technical depth: we took an enterprise platform that had been under-deployed and operated it the way it was designed to be operated, integrating it with the wider sub-system estate without rip-and-replace. Programme judgement: we have grown scope phase by phase, earning each step rather than asking for it. Strategic value: the clinic now runs on a connected intelligence platform, not a stack of disconnected contracts.

If you are running a private estate where discretion, compliance, and continuity matter as much as the hardware on the doors, where an enterprise platform has been deployed but not properly operated, or where multiple sub-systems have grown organically and need consolidating without disruption, this is the work we do.
