University of Roehampton

Ansador were appointed to provide an enterprise CCTV and Access Control system to the University of Roehampton’s Harvey and Romero redevelopment. The development involved new specialist teaching spaces for film, TV, sound, photo studios, digital project lab and cinema for their department of media culture and language. Further to the multi-faceted educational spaces, the site also provides student accommodation and a social hub in the external courtyard space.

With the remodelling of the mixed-use premises came the client’s requirement for their CCTV and Access Control system to synchronise with the refurbishment of the Harvey and Romero buildings. Ansador designed and installed an Access Control system covering numerous entry points, allowing only those with relevant access into the specific areas of the redevelopment. The system also provided a record and audit trail of staff and visitors entering. A new CCTV system was installed with multiple cameras to cover all areas of the premises and to deliver on the client’s requirements for a totally safe and secure remodelling of the site.

The disabled refuge system and Intruder Alarm was also carefully specified and then monitored by the university’s own in-house team elsewhere on the campus.

The access control had to be backward compatible with the student enrolment system which is linked to the banking, ID and student services team.

As always the Project team completed and handed the systems over to the client and construction team on time and to specification.
