A landmark and one of the foremost listed buildings in London that prides itself on the strapline ‘where old meets new,’ The City of London’s Guildhall and all the adjoining buildings on the estate required a new bespoke security system which would be using the most secure design as well as integrating with other office systems.
Ansador were approached to design and deliver a bespoke Access Control and structured cabling solution including an electronic locking system and converged network solution throughout the mixed-use site. Ansador designed a new system from top to bottom that would allow the original 14th century building to remain untouched but still benefitting from the latest security features. Due to the nature of the premises, the project required the team to work in a live environment, managing health and safety aspects and liaising with all the various interested parties, as well as working throughout nights and weekends in order to ensure works did not impact the clients day to day work.
Design and consultancy took place over the course of a year and a half, and the installation that followed required a method that efficiently combined innovative technology along with the client’s requirement to maintain all fixtures and fittings of the listed building. The same was required of the structured cabling, with cables being installed and run throughout the listed mixed-use building. Ansador seamlessly delivered a completely new security system that touched almost all aspects of the building including, doors, lifts, fire alarms, networks, office systems and countless other processes.
